Salvation through Jesus Christ ~ Your New Beginning
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God..."
2 Timothy 3:1 - 3:4
Today, when you recognize these "signs of the times" it may cause you to ask the most important question of all:
"What must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30)
And the answer is:
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved." (Acts 16:31)
What exactly does this mean?
First, God tells us that we are all sinners:
("for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23)
Then, God tells us that the penalty for sin is death:
("for the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23)
Then God gives us the incredible great news. That He loves us so much that He does not want us to die. So He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who was without sin, to die in our place. ("John 3:16") When Jesus died on the cross, the debt for sin was paid to all who believe this good news. In other words, Jesus took our sin and we recieved His righteousness! In God's sight, we have no sin and are now entitled to His free gift of eternal life in heaven and all we must do is believe what God has told us.
Can you believe this good news? Then, all you need to do is ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior and your Lord. Here is some Scripture:
"that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead; you will be saved..."
Romans 10:9
"But as many as recieved Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:" John 1:12
You may ask Jesus into your life by saying a simple prayer. Prayer is the way that you can talk to God. Here is an example of this prayer:
"Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner and I need Jesus Christ to save me from my sin. Right now, I open my heart to receive Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior."
The exact words don't really matter, but in your own way, if you confessed your sin and asked Jesus to become your Savior, He will keep His promise and He will come into your heart and your life. This is what the Bible means by being "born again" (John 3:3,5) If you prayed with your heart and let Jesus into your life, congratulations!
You have been born into the family of God and been given the gift of Eternal Life!
